A retreat house and guest accommodation in the heart of the Coromandel

In addition to being a Retreat Centre or accommodation for travellers and various other kinds of use
Benedict House is also the NZ national centre for the Anglican Benedictine Order of Holy Cross (www.ohcnz.org.nz)

Our Benedictine roots come from the teaching of Saint Benedict. It is an expression of Christian living.

Benedictines are a group of lay and ordained men and women. We pray in common with the Order of the Holy Cross (OHC) worldwide. As Associates of OHC we live out a
Rule of Life, which consists of daily prayer, regular celebration of the Eucharist, study, contemplation and Christian hospitality.

The emblem for the Order of Holy Cross is the
Tree of Life depicted on this website. It symbolises the Triumph of the Cross with the new life and growth that can be found in the teaching and the life example of Jesus Christ.

Benedictine hospitality has at its core the kind of welcome that provides travellers and others with a place of calm for rest and reflection.
